New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Health has said that 12 crore doses of vaccines will be available under the National Govt Vaccine Program in June.
The federal government said in a statement that in June, 6.09 crore doses of the vaccine would be provided free of charge to states and union territories to vaccinate people over the age of 45, health workers and frontline workers.
In addition, the states and union territories will receive 5.86 crore doses under the direct purchase scheme. As a result, about 12 crore (11,95,70,000) doses of the vaccine will be in reserve for use in the National Vaccine Program in June.
In May, 4.03 crore doses were distributed free of charge to vaccinated states and union territories. A further 3.9 crore vaccines were procured by state governments and private hospitals. Thus stated in that statement.
