16 rental car mortgage scam: Web for two, including government employee

Bagoor: Police are searching for two people, including a government employee, who swindled 16 rental cars worth Rs one crore.

Dinesh hails from Kamaraj Street, RK Nagar, Ariyankuppam, Pondicherry and his friend Ramesh hails from Kurinji Nagar. An investigation is underway. Meanwhile, another fraud complaint has been lodged against the two. The complaint filed with the Krumambakkam police yesterday: Dinesh and Ramesh rented my Innova car on a monthly basis on June 29 last year. The cars were mortgaged and swindled. Thus it is said. Krumambakkam Sub-Inspector Muruganantham filed a case. The first phase of the investigation has revealed that Ramesh is working as a nurse at the Coastal Government Hospital. He, along with his friend Dinesh, have been involved in the scam. So far 16 cars have been rented claiming that Corona needed a car for service work. At that time, Ramesh’s nurse showed the ID card to the car owners and trusted them. The police are taking serious action to arrest the two persons who are in hiding.
