Dr. Poonam Ketrapal Singh, WHO Regional Director for South East Asia, said, “India will soon be given 75 lakh doses of modern vaccine under the WHO’s Kovacs program.” But he did not say when it would be offered. It is likely that the vaccine will be given with the permission of the federal government.
Meanwhile, Nithiayog’s health member V.K. Paul said, “The federal government is in talks with the Modern and Pfizer vaccines. We continue to talk to those companies. Arrangements for the importation of vaccines will begin soon. Work on this is underway, ”he said.
