London: Another England player is being prosecuted by the country’s cricket board for allegedly racially abusing a teenager on Twitter after Allie Robinson. Allie Robinson has been suspended for similar behavior.
Wisden.com has detected old player tweets. It did not reveal the identity of the cricketer as he was not 16 at the time. The website posted a screenshot of the tweet without revealing the player’s identity.
“It looks like the player posted with the hashtags #asianthroughhandthrough # hweollo #chinky that you went with the Asians. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is now investigating.
A spokesman for the England Cricket Board said the website said it was reviewing the matter and would respond in a timely manner. These derogatory posts came to the fore shortly after Robinson was not suspended for racist allegations made in 2012 and 2013.
