Lahore: At least 30 people, including workers, were killed when a bus collided with a lorry in Pakistan on their way home for the Bakreed festival.
A bus carrying more than 70 passengers from Seoulkot in the Punjab province of neighboring Pakistan left for Rajanpur yesterday morning. Many of the workers were on their way home to celebrate Bakreed. The bus they were traveling in collided with a ‘trailer’ lorry in Tara Kasi Khan district. Twelve people were killed at the scene. The injured were admitted to the hospital. The death toll has risen to 30, with 18 dead; More than 40 people are being treated. A police official said the accident happened because the bus driver was asleep.
