Mumbai: ” In the last 2017–2018, I suffered from many nights without sleep for about a year and a half. The idea was to get back on the team, ”Jadeja said.
Jadeja is India’s all-rounder. An indispensable player in all three forms of cricket, he is currently in Mumbai for the World Test Championship, England series. He said that in the last 2017–2018, he was unable to continue in the team:
Truth be told I spent many nights without sleep for about a year and a half in 2017–2018. On those days I would get up at 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning. I will be with the idea of what to do and how to get back on the team. With this in mind, I will not be sad, I will get up and sit down immediately.
I would have been on the Test team. But there will be no place in the 11-man squad to bat on foreign soil. The same is true of the one-day team. I will go with the Indian team. But do not get the chance to play. Thus unable to play in local tournaments. I didn’t get the chance I needed to prove myself. The very idea of how to get on the team kept haunting me.
The Oval Test (86 runs, 156 balls) against England in 2018 changed everything overall as far as my skill and confidence were concerned. When England achieve against the best bowlers on the field, it will boost your confidence. It will give you the feeling that you can shine anywhere in the world. Next up was Hardik Pandya, who was ruled out of the ODI squad due to injury. After that everything is going better.
Thus said Jadeja.
