Nagpur: As part of the investigation into the money laundering case, the Enforcement Directorate has searched two residences of former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh, a police official said.
Two separate teams of the Directorate of Enforcement are conducting searches at the Deshmukh house in Katol town, about 60 km from Nagpur district and their ancestral home in Wadvihira village near Katol. He said the search began around 6 am.
The ED is investigating the multi-crore bribery, extortion and money laundering case, following the allegations that Deshmukh resigned as Home Minister last April.
The central agency recently arrested Deshmukh’s personal secretary Sanjeev Palande and personal assistant Kundan Shinde after the NCP leader attacked him.
