New Delhi: The government has the confidence to hold a parliamentary monsoon session, scheduled for July, amid the second wave of Kovid-19, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi said on Tuesday.
Three parliamentary sessions have been curtailed since the onset of the epidemic, and last year’s winter session was canceled. The monsoon session, which was supposed to start in July last year, began in September. Sources said the methods for conducting this year’s monsoon session are still being discussed.
Joshi told PTI that he is hopeful that the parliamentary session, which starts in July, will be held according to its normal schedule.
Officials are confident that the monsoon session will take place in July as most MPs, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha staff, secretaries and other partners have received at least one dose of covid vaccine.
