New Delhi: Rajiv Sabha vice-president Harivansh Narayan Singh said the central government would answer the Kovid issue at 5 pm.
Prior to the start of the riots, Rajya Sabha opposition leaders had met Rajya Sabha president Venkaiah Naidu and requested that Kovid discuss the issue. Responding to this, Venkaiah Naidu said the government had given him time to answer at 5 pm today.
Commenting on this, Rajya Sabha vice-president Harivansh Narayan Singh said, “All the leaders wanted to discuss Kovid-19 issue. This will be discussed in the afternoon. It was agreed at the meeting that Kovid will discuss the issues for four hours and the Minister of Health and Family Welfare will answer the matter at 5 pm.
According to sources, Rajya Sabha President M Venkaiah Naidu, Leader of the House Piyush Goyal and Opposition Leaders Anand Sharma, Jairam Ramesh, Derek O’Brien and Tiruchi Siva have reportedly met and discussed the issue. Sources said that Piyush Goyal had previously held an informal discussion with opposition leaders seeking cooperation in the reopening of the House.
After the first postponement of the house, Goyal met Naidu with opposition leaders until 12 noon.
