Chennai: There is likely to be a one-week lockdown extension in Tamil Nadu, with some laxity in the districts affected by the Kovid-19 infection, and with more restrictions in the high number of cases.
The high-level meeting of the ministry, headed by chief minister MK Stalin, was reviewed on the progress on the epidemic.
Chief Secretary V Irai Anbu, key department secretaries and top police officials participated in the discussion. Sources say the chief minister will formally announce the lockdown extension on Saturday.
