Chandigarh: With the Punjab and Uttar Pradesh assembly elections just nine months away, the relationship between the two chief ministers over the creation of a new district in Punjab has come to an end.
On the day of the Eid, the Punjab Chief Minister had declared Malerkotla, a Muslim district in the state, a separate district.
Responding to this, CM Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh CM, said that discrimination on the basis of ideology or religion is contrary to the basic spirit of the Constitution and that the declaration of Malerkotla as a new district is the key to such discrimination.
Responding to this, Amarinder Singh said, “Yogi Adityanath is making serious allegations that he is trying to create communal riots in Punjab. What does Yogi Adityanath know about the characteristics of Punjab or what does Adityanath know about Malerkotla?”
The whole world knows the BJP’s communal separatist politics. Amarinder Singh has made it clear that Yogi Adityanath’s government is mainly known for its communal separatist politics.
